Leaders: Sharon & Jim Coer, 203-671-5180. A wide, flat, well-trod trail system with a pond and wildlife. A self-guided trail map with notes is available here and at the Route 11 entrance. The hike can be extended by crossing Mountain Road and traveling the Shephard Spring loop trail. Weather permitting bring chairs and lunch to enjoy while overlooking the pond. Directions: From New London, take Rt. 11 East and make a left at Flying Goose Pub. Continue until you see designated parking area and trailhead on your right after Elkins sign.
